This blog features random thoughts and ramblings by me, Ashley, one of the many random boys that can be found in the world.

I am just an insignificant boy hoping to one day be able to make an impact on the world.

Bangkok Street Mookata

So yay, in my third blog post for today, I am writing about the Mookata that I had this evening with a friend of mine.

As can be seen from the picture above, the name of the Mookata is Bangkok Street Mookata.

You can see the price list for their two and four persons' set meals below:

As for us, we didn't order according to the platters that they have. We ordered the following dishes a la carte:

In that picture are two portions each of meatballs, chicken, pork and beef. They combined the two plates/portions into one plate for those dishes. The tang hoon in the picture is only one portion's worth.

Each portion costs $0.90 but I still feel that the portions are pretty small regardless. This is by far the worst point of the entire meal.

This Mookata stall is actually found inside a coffee shop at Jurong West St 42 as can be seen in the following picture:

For all of you wondering what Mookata's all about, refer to the following picture:

Mookata is basically the Thai version of steamboat and grill with one difference: The grill is above the steamboat area meaning that all of the sweet juices and fats from the meat will all drop into the steamboat soup. Yum!

Those two pieces of meat are actually pork lard used to season, oil and flavour the grill and soup for the Mookata to come.

There's really nothing much to say anymore about the meal except that the seasoning for the beef meat is awesome! It's sweet and succulent and if you cook the beef just nice, the tenderness of the beef will blend exceptionally well with the seasoning. It's like a whole piece of heavenly goodness just melting in your mouth!

We ordered another two portions of the chicken, pork and beef meat to share among the two of us and paid $40.30 total for the meal. I think the meal is a little pricey just for the two of us but we did eat more than just a normal two persons' portion of meat.

Refer to the following picture for more information about the place:

Taste: 3.5/5
Service: -/5
Ambience: 2.5/5
Price: 2/5
Overall: 2.67/5

Overall comments:
The stall is a nice place to eat if you are craving for barbecue grill or Mookata but the taste is pretty much average. The food is a little pricey with pretty small portions. Also, it's situated in a coffee shop so there really isn't that good of an ambience in the area.
